ba[rock the vote*]
As of November 4, 2008, it has been declared that the 44th president of the United States of America is going to be Barack Obama. Many people are talking all kinds of garbage about this result of the election, where Obama beat out his opponent, John McCain, by about twice as many electoral votes.
Though most of the students in the school are angry abou tthis turnout, I personally couldn't be more pleased. Mr Obama's big "thing" while he was running for president was CHANGE. His ideas have been the subject of a lot of talk for the past few months. The main idea he has is about taxes for higher-income and lower-income households.
Obama's ideas about taxes are that people with higher incomes ($250,000) should pay a higher percentage on their taxes, and that people below that mark will pay a lower percentage of tax money. Most of what I'm hearing about this is people whining about Obama giving taxes for "being successful," and people don't have to pay a price for "slacking off, and doing nothing." But my thought is that there is, in fact, a plausible reason (believe it!) behind this tax change. People who are earning over $250,000 dollars a year have enough money to live comfortably, and happily, without worrying about much of anything. Therefore, they would be able to pay a higher percentage of their money and still have much to spare. On the other side of the 250,000 mark, the people who have slightly less money wouldn't be living so comfortably, and might be working on paying for things more, and could use a tax break. I agree with this idea, and think that the changes he will be making for this country in the next few years will most definitely be for the better. Otherwise, the man wouldn't be elected.
Save your money, I want change

Sorry Emily but I think your view on the election of Obama is distorted and before you say things like that you should read about all of his policies and see how much of what he wants to be changed you want to be changed. Besides just that everyone says what other people want to hear therefore he will say what people WANT to hear not what he wants. Trust me if you read up you wouldn't be very happy either and most of the reason he won was not because of the change he supposedly wants, it was because the black people wanted a black president just a thought.
